1-Day Professional Make-up Diploma Course

1-Day Professional Make-up Diploma Course ~  £220

One-day accredited course teaching professional makeup techniques. This course is designed to help beauty therapists and makeup lovers get to grips with modern makeup techniques and create great looks for special occasions, evening events, weddings, job interviews and just for looking good every day.

Beauty therapists who want to add makeup treatments to their skillset and hairdressers who want to offer a comprehensive styling service will be able to gain insurance to offer makeup treatments for their clients. Members of the public who want to learn how to get the best out of makeup are also welcome – many people are expected to wear makeup for work, or wish to send their daughter to her prom looking her absolute best.

The anatomy & physiology required to give makeup treatments is covered, and we focus on hygiene – disposable sponges and brushes are used, and you are told where to obtain these in bulk, and how to sterilize other tools.  You will work with a kit of professional makeup which includes a range of different types of foundation, loose and compact powder, crème and powder blushes and contour products, lip gloss, lipstick, crème and powder shadows, priming products, a good selection of the types of makeup available in the marketplace. You will learn how to blend and use colour to suit face shape, and how to bring out the client’s best features and disguise any issues. Camouflage makeup is available and we will briefly look at how to cover a tattoo or scar if required by the client.

The course will run during the same week as Lash & Brow Shaping and Tinting course, so that students can combine the two and offer a complete beauty package for the clients if they want to do so. If you book both courses together, then a discount of 10% is offered on the lower-priced course as a ‘thank you’ for your loyalty and commitment. You do not need to buy a kit for the makeup course – everything you need is provided on the day, along with information about where you can obtain supplies for use in your own practice.

The course covers:
